I haven’t been here since Thursday, so I’m just posting all of them together…

Day 9 - Your wishes for series 3


And I want to know WHO killed Vera. I want this mystery to be solved, because I’m dying of suspence. And then of course some Anna/Bates happiness and then some drama, because these two actors are just too brilliant!

Day 10 - Your favourite scene


I’ve already mentioned a lot of my favourite scenes, but I recognized that this one was missing! So…

Anna: Because I love you Mr Bates. I know it’s not ladylike to say so, but I’m not a lady and I don’t pretend to be.

Mr Bates: You are a lady to me. And I never knew a finer one.

Bonus Question - Who do you think murdererd Vera?

Initially I thought Vera killed herself, but I’m not so sure anymore. Anyway, I think the only ones who could somehow be involved with this “incident” would be O’Brien or (of course) Sir Richard. Maybe Lady Mary must come to Mr Bates rescue. She could form a detective agency together with Anna and they could search for evidence… And then they would find a hidden letter from Vera, in which she states that she is going to kill herself. Sir Richard bought that letter and Lady Mary has to pay him to get the evidence….


Then again maybe not… But I guess Julian Fellowes must know what he’s doing (I hope so!) and all we have to do is wait and trust him. (I CAN’T!!!)

So this was fun… I don’t know what I’ll do now…

I guess I have to find another challenge (although I believe there will never be such an awesome one like this. Can please somebody set (?) another challenge! There’s not enough Anna/Bates here!)

A scene that made you cry:

Mr Bates: Will you stay on at Downton?

Anna: [..] If they’ll let me.

Mr Bates: They’ll let you. And you’ll have some money. Mr Murray thinks you can keep it or most of it. I want you to thank his lordship for trying to help me.


Anna: Yes, but what he said…

Mr Bates: He didn’t want to say it. I don’t want to blame him for not lying. Give him my best wishes for the future. And wish all of them well. I don’t want it to get it holded against Mrs Hughes or Miss O’Brien.


Anna: If you think I can ever…

Mr Bates: Even Ms O’Brien. We’ve not been friends, but she doesn’t want me here. Please forgive them.


Anna: I’m not sorry, you know. Not a bit. I would marry you now, if I wasn’t already your wife. I would.

Mr Bates: God knows, I’m not sorry, either. Maybe I should be… No man can regret loving, as I haved loved you.

Your favourite fanfiction…

I don’t really read any fanfic. I’ve just had a glimpse into a few things.

And I know that this is not really an Anna/Bates-fic, but the little moments they had (until now) are fab. So this is the only one which really stayed in my mind (the real Anna/Bates-fics were a little bit too cheesy for me), but maybe I’m going to try one of you suggestions!

I think not only Anna’s heart must have made a jump at that sentence. And he only smiles like that when he is near her. So I think he definitely was in love with her at that moment. It’s so sad (and beautiful) that she stays at the door for a second until she leaves and sniffs silently (because the love of her life will be gone tomorrow :( )

Mr Bates: Shall I give you a hand?

Anna: Oh, would you? It takes half the time with two.

Mr Bates: I always feel a bit sorry for Lady Edith.

Anna: Me too. Although I don’t know why, when you think of what she’s got and we haven’t.

Mr Bates: Mrs Hughes said she was after the other heir, Mr Patrick Crawley. The one who drowned.

Anna: That was different. She was in love with him.

Mr Bates: What happened?

Anna: She never got a look in. He was all set up to marry Lady Mary.

Mr Bates: Then he was a braver man than I am, Gunga Din. It’s sad, isn’t it?

Anna: I’ts always sad if you love somebody, who doesn’t love you back. No matter who you are.

Mr Bates: No, I mean it’s sad that he died.

Anna: Oh. Yes. Very sad. He was nice. Well, thank you for that. Much appreciated.

Mr Bates: My pleasure. Perhaps Mr Patrick did love her back, he just couldn’t say it.

Anna: Why ever not?

Mr Bates: Sometimes we’re not at liberty to speak. Sometimes it wouldn’t be right.

Day 2: A scene you wish had been different

Hmm that’s really a tough one, because let’s be honest, it’s really hard for a shipper to find a scene which is not awesome! And as much as I hated Mr Bates getting arrested, I admired Joanne Froggat’s and Brendan Coyle’s performance in the Christmas Special! And that almost kiss… adorable.

So I think I’m gonna say… I wish their conversation in the hallway after Bates came home from his visit in London with the scratch in his face had been different. They should have gone somewhere private (so that O’Brien couldn’t “accidently” eavesdrope) and I would have loved to see an explanation. But I guess we have to wait for series 3 to find out…
